Rolex and Cartier gold watches lead the way in our May sale.
Two Cartier 1980’s Tank Francaise quartz wristwatch in 18ct yellow gold cases and bracelet straps, ref. 1821, 2385, sold for £5,000 and £3,770 (including fees) in our specialist May Jewellery, Watches, Silver and Collectibles timed online auction.
The his/her duo were consigned by a couple looking to downsize and had purchased the watches new as gifts to each other back in the day and so were ready to give them a new lease of life, although sold to different buyers they are sure to give pleasure for at least another generation.
Just as desirable and from the early nineties were two ladies Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust models, ref. 69178 and 69318, again with 18ct gold cases/bracelet straps and diamonds selling for £6,500 and £5,200 respectively.
The timeless Cartier and Rolex brands are always in demand and these models now qualify as vintage, so have added appeal.
Our timed online specialist auctions for jewellery, silver and watches continue to make strong prices as they are durable enough to be easily shipped around the world by our in-house facility, fully insured by Royal Mail, so the market is truly global.
This is in stark contrast with ceramics/ornaments and glassware that, besides being massively out of fashion due to minimalism, do not travel well at all, often costing a multiple of their value to ship.
Our weekly valuation sessions continue throughout the summer in Wokingham, Bagshot and Hartley Wintney so bring your items along for possible inclusion to our next specialist timed online Jewellery, Watches, Silver & Collectibles auction schedule for 24-31 July. See here for times/venues.
